Zithobile (Zitty) was born in Swaziland, southern Africa, and immigrated to Greensboro, NC with her family when she was four years old. Her parents traveled on student visas and graduated from Greensboro College in the late 1980s. They chose to remain in Greensboro in hopes of exposing Zitty and her siblings to North Carolina’s growing educational and professional opportunities.
Proud to now call Greensboro “home,” Zitty earned her B.S. in Business Management from Guilford College and her M.A. in Communication Studies from UNC-Greensboro. Her professional experiences include working in the Office of the President at Bennett College from 2008-2011, as well as teaching communication and public speaking courses at GTCC and NCA&TSU. Most recently, Zitty had the pleasure of working as the Assistant to the Executive Director of Hayes-Taylor Memorial YMCA during their $11.1 million Capital Campaign launched in 2012, and their transition to a brand new facility in January 2015.
Zitty is currently enrolled in the Leadership Studies doctoral program at NCA&TSU, and plans to use her research to support her passion for community connections and global engagement.
